1. First Home Owner Grant (FHOG)

The FHOG is a one-off payment to help first home buyers purchase or build a new home.

What you get:

  • Up to $15,000 for buying or building a new home.

Property value cap:

  • For contracts signed on or after 6 June 2024, there is no property value cap.

  • For contracts between 15 June 2023 and 5 June 2024, the cap was $650,000.

  • For contracts between 17 September 2010 and 14 June 2023, the cap was $575,000.

Eligibility:

  • You and your partner (if applicable) must be at least 18 years old.
